2010 ARRA block grant program available in Anson County A Community Services Block Grant program is available for eligible Anson County participants through Sept. 30, 2010. HOLLA! to host back-to-school event on Aug. 20 HOLLA! will sponsor a "Back to School with Pride" outing beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 20, at Hatcher Park in Lilesville. Parks and Rec announces fall sports registration The Anson County Parks and Recreation Department will conduct registration for fall sports -- including football, cheerleading, tee ball, girls fast-pitch softball, coach-pitch baseball, mico-soccer and youth soccer -- July 26-Aug. 31.
The fall football and cheerleading programs are for youths in third-sixth grade; girls fast-pitch softball is for ages 4-18; coach-pitch softball is for ages 7-10; tee ball is for ages 4-6; micro-soccer is for ages 3-5; and youth soccer is for kindergarten-12th grade. 4-H to host series of Summer Adventure Camps The Anson County 4-H will coordinate a series of Summer Adventure Camps in June, July and August. Camp participants must be registered by an adult; youths may be registered at the Anson County Cooperative Extension Center office, 501 McLaurin St., Wadesboro.
Participants do not have to be enrolled in 4-H. The cost of each camp includes snacks, all supplies and the cost of the trip. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
